Regional Security System (RSS) – The Regional Security System’s Joint Task Force (RSS JTF) was deployed on Thursday May 23, 2024, in support of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda and the Antigua and Barbuda Defence Force for security operations around the hosting of the United Nations 4th Small Island Developing States Conference scheduled for May 27 to 30. This deployment was executed in accordance with the RSS Treaty.
The security support for this event includes both human resources and equipment which consists of Maritime Assets, Drones, Tactical Response Teams, Infantry troops, Close Protection Officers and Drivers. This combined effort has full spectrum coverage of land, air, maritime and cyber security.
The troops were drawn from the islands of Barbados, Grenada, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
