Antigua and Barbuda Broadcasting Services (ABS) – Thirty students and two adults are receiving treatment after a three-vehicle crash along Sir Sydney Walling Highway Tuesday afternoon.

Police say 26 students were in a school bus traveling west to east when the incident happened. The bus driver was reportedly attempting to pass a vehicle that stopped in front of him, when the bus collided with a truck traveling in the opposite direction.

The 26 students on the bus and the conductor were injured in the collision and taken to hospital. A Sport-Utility Vehicle being driven by a police officer then collided into the back of the bus.

The policeman as well as four students traveling in his SUV were also taken to hospital. None of the injuries is considered life-threatening.

The Police’s Traffic Department is continuing investigations into the incident.
