Flash Flood Warning In Effect Until 5:30 p.m.
National Office Of Disaster Services (NODS) – A flash flood warning is now in effect for flood prone areas of Antigua until 5:30 p.m. today (Tuesday).

This means that moderate to major flooding is occurring or could take place. According to the Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Office, a trough over the Leeward and
British Virgin Islands is causing periodic moderate to heavy showers.

Already two inches of rain have fallen particularly in the south in the last three hours and another two to three inches are expected in the next four hours.
Individuals living in low lying or flood prone areas should move to higher ground immediately and residents living along streams, creeks should take precaution to protect life and property.

Residents are also advised not to attempt to cross swiftly flowing waters of unknown depths by foot or vehicle. Just one foot of flowing water could sweep a car off the road.
When encountering flooded roads be extremely cautious and if in doubt turn around.
