Antigua and Barbuda Broadcasting Services (ABS) – Police are probing a suspected drowning at Long Bay which claimed the life of 76 year old Rupert Thomas of Clare Hall.
He reportedly went to the beach with his family and got into difficulties while in the water.
He was pulled unresponsive from the water and later pronounced dead. A post mortem will confirm the cause of death.
The tragedy left a pall of grief over his family and community on what had been planned as a day of wholesome family fun.
