Royal Montserrat Police Service (RMPS) – On Thursday 2 May 2024 at approximately 19:35hrs, police were alerted to a vessel in distress about two miles off Marguerita Bay.
The Royal Montserrat Police Marine Unit deployed to the area where they encountered a twelve meter sailing vessel named Oscar II, with one soul on board.
The vessel had lost steering control. Rough seas proved challenging but despite this, both vessel and passenger were safely transported into Little Bay.
Acting Commissioner Enriles commended the officers’ for their actions, thanking them for their bravery and dedication to keeping people safe.
