The Ministry of Health is thrilled to announce the resounding success of Vaccination Week in the Americas 2024, a week-long celebration of community health and well-being. From April 21st to April 27th, communities came together to prioritize health through vaccination awareness and access initiatives.

Vaccination Week in the Americas 2024 showcased the Ministry’s unwavering commitment to promoting health and well-being for all. This annual initiative, led by the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), aimed to promote vaccination as a fundamental pillar of public health.
Through a range of activities and events, the week demonstrated the importance of vaccination in safeguarding individuals and communities against preventable diseases.

The week kicked off with messages delivered to churches on Sunday, April 21st, emphasizing the critical role of vaccination in protecting against diseases. From there, a symbolic March from the old CBH building to the Ministry of Health Headquarters marked the official commencement of the week’s activities.
The Opening Ceremony at 39ers Square set the tone for a week filled with educational workshops, distribution of informational materials, and outreach campaigns aimed at raising awareness about vaccination.

Media Day on Tuesday, April 23rd, provided an opportunity for media outlets to amplify the Ministry’s message and highlight the importance of vaccination in achieving community immunity. Health centers hosted Open Day events throughout the week, inviting the public to learn more about available vaccines and their benefits.
Education Day on Wednesday, April 24th, focused on empowering individuals with accurate information about vaccines, debunking myths, and addressing concerns. Through educational workshops and seminars, the Ministry fostered a culture of informed decision-making regarding vaccination.
Outreach Campaigns in communities and schools on Thursday and Friday ensured that access to vaccination services reached every corner of the region. These efforts were complemented by Open Day events, providing individuals with convenient opportunities to receive vaccinations and engage with healthcare professionals.

The culminating event on Saturday, April 27th, saw a special focus on Weekend Vaccination initiatives, with communities prioritizing their health by receiving vaccinations at designated centers.
