Twenty individuals from several government departments are involved in a four-day training on the emergency logistics system of the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) which tracks emergency supplies throughout the region.

CDEMA’s Logistics System (CLS) aims to support the National Office of Disaster Services (NODS) with an update of its inventory at the national emergency warehouse and upload the emergency response supplies and equipment onto CDEMA’s system.

The overall aim is to enhance relief management after a disaster and improve coordination among the various agencies.
The training was conducted by Logistics Specialist Cayle Francis-Thornhill from CDEMA and Supply Chain Officer from the World Food Programme (WFP) Jean-Paul Laveau.

Among those participating were representatives from the air and sea ports, the defence force, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Works, the Customs and Excise Division and the National Office of Disaster Services (NODS).
