SIDS4 Antigua & Barbuda – The 4th International Conference on Small Island Developing States, #SIDS4, is benefitting from a major two-day gathering which brought together academic experts, researchers and policy makers to discuss the road ahead for SIDS.

The SIDS Future Forum, which began in New York today, allowed for an earnest and open discourse on a range of well researched topics on those thematic areas that are expected to define the final outcome of the SIDS4 Conference in Antigua and Barbuda.

Antigua and Barbuda’s Permanent Representative to the UN Walton Webson addressed the opening while his Deputy, Tumasie Blair, made a presentation during which he made a feverish call on development partners to place their full support behind all SIDS.

On the second day of the forum, the work and contribution of civil society will be in sharp focus as the island nations of the globe seek to galvanise support from all sectors in building a resilient and prosperous future.
