The Rotary Club of Antigua demonstrated its support for the 4th International Conference for Small Islands Development States (SIDS4) by facilitating a discussion about the conference and the range of pressing issues facing island nations during its business meeting this week.

The conference will take place in Antigua and Barbuda from May 27th -May 30th and visiting Rotarians and other specially invited guests were able to benefit from the information shared by a number of speakers including Antigua and Barbuda’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ambassador Walton Webson and his Deputy Tumasie Bair.

The role of volunteers as well as the various areas where the the Club can contribute to the success of the conference were highlighted.

Both the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Anthony ‘Mamba’ Liverpool and Chief of Protocol Karen Cabrall presented and fielded questions on the volunteer opportunities for the conference.
