Wednesday, 8th November, 2023 – Subsequent to the recent notice regarding unplanned electricity outages, we can confirm that the fault has been identified.
The technicians at the Antigua Power Company are working diligently to rectify the issue affecting two of the engines located at the Antigua Power Company and Blackpine Power Plant respectively.
As a consequence of these ongoing repairs, APUA has implemented a temporary load-shedding exercise to balance the reduced generation capacity with the current load capacity (power usage).
We estimate that loading-shedding cycles will conclude at 8:45 pm tonight and anticipate a return to normalcy to the generation network by tomorrow.
