The Caribbean island of Jamaica was shaken by a Magnitude 5.4 earthquake at about 10:57 a.m. local time on Monday, 30th October 2023.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported that the earthquake was located about 2 miles west-northwest of Hope Bay at a depth of about 6 miles.

According to the country’s Prime Minister Andrew Holness, there have been reports of minor damage but no deaths. Since the initial tremor, aftershocks have been felt across sections of the island.
