The Tropical Storm Warning for Antigua has been lifted but it remains in place for the sister-isle Barbuda.

However, the Met Office has not yet given the all-clear and says residents should continue to exercise significant caution. Storm-force gusts and more flooding rainfall are possible. Seas remain hazardous and mariners should stay in safe anchorage.

A few shelters remain open to accommodate individuals who live in low-lying areas who had to evacuate overnight. There have been significant flooding island-wide and emergency personnel were kept busy rescuing persons who were either stranded in their vehicles or homes.

There were approximately 33 requests made to E911 for search and rescue. Over on Barbuda, there was minimal flooding. NODS is urging persons to be safe and stay clear of flood waters and downed power lines. – the end
