Antigua and Barbuda has now been placed under a Tropical Storm Warning. According to information from the local met office, the chance of storm winds is at 70% for Antigua and 90% for Barbuda.

A Tropical Storm Warning means that tropical storm conditions are expected somewhere within the warning area, in this case within 6 hours. The National Office of Disaster Services (NODS) continues to urge residents to ensure their preparedness plans are in place and to monitor the local media for updates on Tropical Storm Philippe.

NODS has also activated the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) which manages incidents associated with disasters. Critical agencies like the police and defence forces, Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) , Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the Ministry of Works have been reporting to NODS.. -The end –
