FOR IMMEDIATE ATTENTION Sunday 20th August 2023 – The APUA Electricity Business Unit would like to inform the general public that on Saturday 19th August 2023 from approximately 9:30pm additional and extended interruptions of service were experienced as a result of an unforeseen mechanical failure at the Friars Hill Substation.

The complete restoration of services is still ongoing and will conclude today. As a part of finishing the repairs further intermittent outages will occur within the affected areas between 2:00pm and 3:00pm today and also within St. John’s City and surrounding areas from 3:00pm to 4:00pm.
